Jesus Age
Yesterday was my birthday. I turned Jesus Age.

And if that's not enough religion talk for you, get this! On my actual birthday, I got to see the fourteenth Dalai Lama speak about Positive Change Beginning with Inner Happiness.

He was the most adorable man. Seriously. He told jokes and laughed at them, himself. A woman asked this very sweet question about how to raise her new infant daughter to be a joyful and mindful person. After a moment of quiet thought, he said, in his broken English, "You asking wrong person. I am monk. I think if I spend a few hours with children, it's okay. But more than that, (he shook his head) I don't know." And he laughed heartily and his little funny.
In addition to being raucously funny, he also exudes this peaceful presence. He moves slowly and deliberately. He speaks about creating peace in oneself, which spreads, by proxy, to others. He also recognized that there are many religions. He said that it's not possible to say that one is the "best" religion if speaking about many people, but only if speaking about an individual. He likened it to applying different medications for different illnesses. This medication is the best for that illness. This other medication is the best for another illness. Similarly, this religion is best for that person. This other religion is best for another person. It was beautiful. A perfect Jesus Birthday present.
Then, my friends and I went to a new restaurant with a California twist on comfort food and an amazing Zinfandel. Mmmm. I love birthdays.

HAPPY JESUS BIRTHDAY!!!!
(...so what is that anyway? 24? and how bad of a catholic does that make me when i don't that? eek.)
Happy Birthday! I have no idea what Jesus age is, but when ya get past 30, who keeps track? :-P I'm envious - I'd love to see the Dalai Lama. I've read his book and it makes a lot of sense, although I have yet to put things into practice regularly.
It's 33. I'm also a palindrome, which makes that They Might Be Giants song get stuck in my head. :)
