Good Hair

Recently, I have been bemoaning the fact that, although I desperately need a haircut, I find it ridiculous that it costs upwards of $70-90 to get a good one in this city. I have been refusing to get an expensive haircut, not only for the principle of the matter, but more importantly, because I am way too seriously broke to buy a rockstar haircut.

Do I want to eat, or do I want to look fabulous? Generally, the answer is food, of course. I'm partial to it. It's tasty.

That said, today, despite this heart-felt conviction, I might have found something that has convinced me maybe sustenance isn't all that important, and that a good haircut could be worth every penny of the $70 I am about to spend on it this weekend.

What did I find? Feast your eyes on this.

Oh yes. Both photos are of me. In the one on the left, my cute childhood cheeks are all but lost in the hideously distracting SpongeBert SquareHead haircut, which my mother gave me in 1977. (I was her first child. She practiced on me until my brother looked like a prince.) In the photo on the right, I have prim bangs and sweet, little blue barrettes to match my dress. I could have been in a cereal commercial with that haircut!

The moral of the story is:
Good hair is worth eating nothing but Ramen Noodles for weeks.
