Reggaeton y More

Recently, I've been listening to a radio station that plays reggaeton music. According to Wikipedia, reggaeton is a form of dance music which blends Jamaican influences of reggae with those of Latin America, such as bomba and plena, as well as that of hip hop. It is so right up my alley.

I noticed something the other day, though. While I was listening to the station, the DJ kept cambiando the langauge she was hablando in mid-sentence. Each caller did lo mismo when they called in to the station. It strikes me that this Spanglish metodo de hablar es mucho easier and concise than speaking only en ingles. For example, I can aprovechar the fact that there are words in Spanish that don't have un equivalente in English. This makes it mas facil to get my point across. There's so much more espacio para play with the sentences. And so many more ways para decir una cosa sensible. Amazing.

I wish the American sistema de educacion required that everyone tome clases en otro idioma, so we could all feel that freedom to expresarnos however we see fit.

Now, I just have to figure out how to insert accent marks in my blog without it turning into that weird-looking jibberish.
