Anatomy
Something that's always intrigued me about certain dances I do is that one part of my body can be doing something completely different from another. It's like I'm two different people in one. For instance, in merengue, my hips are moving like crazy, but the entire top half of my body is completely straight up and down, seemingly uninterested and unaware of the party going on downstairs. My face, in a mask of calm indifference, reflects this Top of the Body Logic. I don't feel it, so it obviously isn't happening. No movement up here, thanks. Just business as usual.
Two-stepping is a lot like that, as well. In this dance, my feet are running around, slow, slow, quick, quick... yet the rest of me is calming gliding across the floor, not a bob or a shimmy in sight, as if nothing were happening elsewhere.
I'm pretty sure this works on internal organs, as well. My liver, kidneys, and stomach are all cruising along in life. Nothing out of the ordinary of which to take note. Just passing the time. Did you see that macaroni she ate yesterday? Same old, same old. They have no idea when my heart has taken flight, and is off somewhere shakin' its groove thang.

That's why I like swinging (no, not the dirty kind) - the guy is responsible for keeping a girl's hand's busy and you have the illusion of all parts working in tandem. :-P
